Dr Henderson is an Interventional and Clinical Cardiologist who graduated from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours in Medicine in 1999. After completing Advanced Training in Cardiology at Gosford and Royal North Shore Hospitals, he undertook an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ). He is a member of the Interventional Council of the CSANZ.

Dr Henderson established Interventional Cardiology on the Mid North Coast. In 2008 he began stenting procedures at Coffs Harbour Health Campus and was the first Cardiologist between Newcastle and the Gold Coast to perform coronary artery stenting. He has subsequently performed over 3000 coronary artery stenting procedures. Dr Henderson’s efforts have encouraged other regional centres such as Port Macquarie Base Hospital and Lismore Base Hospital to establish their own successful Cardiac Angiography Units. In 2018 he established and was appointed Director of the Cardiac Angiography Unit at Baringa Private Hospital. He is also a Visiting Medical Officer at St Vincents Private Hospital in Sydney.

His particular areas of interest and expertise are the diagnosis and management of chest pain, myocardial infarction, coronary angiography and complex coronary interventions as well as the management of heart failure. Dr Henderson is also a recognised Level A CT Coronary Angiography (CTCA) specialist and was instrumental in establishing the CTCA service in Coffs Harbour in 2012.

Dr Henderson cares for patients from all parts of the Mid North Coast from Yamba and Maclean in the North to Port Macquarie in the South to Armidale and Inverell in the West. He looks after Cardiology patients at Coffs Harbour Health Campus and Baringa Private Hospital.
