Dr Henderson established Interventional Cardiology on the Mid North Coast. In 2008 he began stenting procedures at Coffs Harbour Health Campus and was the first Cardiologist between Newcastle and the Gold Coast to perform coronary artery stenting. He has subsequently performed over 3000 coronary artery stenting procedures. Dr Henderson’s efforts have encouraged other regional centres such as Port Macquarie Base Hospital and Lismore Base Hospital to establish their own successful Cardiac Angiography Units. In 2018 he established and was appointed Director of the Cardiac Angiography Unit at Baringa Private Hospital. He is also a Visiting Medical Officer at St Vincents Private Hospital in Sydney.
