If you are experiencing symptoms such as palpitations, fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath or episodes of fainting your GP or Heart doctor may request you to have a Holter monitor.
A technician will perform an ECG prior to fitting 5 electrodes to your chest which are connected to a handheld device that can be attached to your belt, pants or placed in your pocket. The device will monitor your heart rate and rhythm throughout the duration you have it fitted. We will ask you to go about your normal everyday activities, however the device is not waterproof so we will ask that you do not shower, bathe or partake in any water activities until the monitor is removed.
